Title: Bat Research Ecologist

Job Description: A biologist position is available to participate in a statewide bat research and management initiative. The incumbent will be responsible for analysis of an extensive geodatabase; testing and creating species-habitat models; organizing the development of management objectives; and preparing data collection protocols. The position will require working cooperatively with the Utah Division of Wildlife, bat experts throughout the nation, and all land management agencies in Utah. There will also be opportunities for field work and independent research projects.
The position is funded for one year, with the possibility of a one year extension.
Qualifications: M.S. or Ph.D. in wildlife, ecology, statistics, GIS or a related field is required. The possibility of a post-doc and publications exists with a mentor at Utah State University. Candidates should have experience with GIS analysis, modeling, and statistical data analysis using appropriate techniques and tools. Applicants should be able to design and implement scientific protocols, interpret and synthesize statistical results, and write quality reports. Applicants should also have experience or a strong interest in bat biology.
Salary $40,000 to $50,000 DOE
